I BELIEVE GOD

Acts 27: 23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am , and whom I serve , 24 Saying , Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo , God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. 25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

What a powerful statement "Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me". Paul was a prisoner speaking to the one who held him in captivity in the middle of an ocean, caught up in a storm that threatened to tear the boat to pieces in any given moment. Be of good cheer? Did he understand what was happening, did he feel the ship being tossed about, did he see the look of terror on the captain's face, and did he hear the sound of hopelessness and despair in their voices as they try to figure out what to do?

Yes, he understood. He even warned them not to leave port; he knew the danger that waited. He felt the ship being tossed backward and forward like a toy in the middle of the ocean, he saw them throwing things overboard to lighten the load. Oh, yes he heard the desperation and saw the despair.

Paul had a visitation from God, his God and he was confident in knowing that he knew beyond a shadow of doubt that he belonged to God and was a servant of the most high. He had heard from heaven and was given assurance about his future and those who was with him. "Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee."

From the moment he receive the promise of God he had peace, confidence and joy. It did not matter what the reality of the situation was, that the storm was raging because he had a word from God. "Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me."

Paul had every reason to believe God and none not to believe God. He had been in many situations and saw the mighty hand of deliverance and power of God in action. He had experience this power in his life and in the lives of others. He had learned not to look at how insurmountable his circumstance seems to be but to look to the bigness of his God. He knew in whom he believed. God, the father, creator, way maker, deliverer, rewarder of faith, peace giver, changer of hearts and circumstances, miracle worker, faithful and able to keep his promises. Use what God gave you

I BELIEVE GOD. The centurion ruler whose child lay dying was met by a servant as he was on his way home with Jesus and told to not bother the Master because your daughter is already dead. He did not give up but did as Jesus told him to "Mark 5:36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe"

I BELIEVE GOD. I encourage you to do what Jesus said to do. Mark 11:21-22 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursed is withered away . 22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. John 14: 1 Let not your heart be troubled : ye believe in God, believe also in me. Matt 9:28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They say unto him, Yea, Lord. Psalm 62:8. Trust in him at all times, ye people; Pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Mark 10:27 Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for all things are possible with God. Paul believed, he had a word from God. What storm are you facing in your life today?

Find the word, the promise, begin to prophesy to yourself the word of God. Then rest in the assurance that God watches over his word to perform it and will surely perform in your life when you meet the conditions of being obedient to his word, living holy and loving him. He MUST HONOR HIS WORD.

SPEAK THE ANSWER NOT THE PROBLEM. THE ANSWER IS IN THE WORD OF GOD.

Heavenly Father, we thank you for the shed blood of your son Jesus that guarantees our victory in every area of our lives. We thank you for THE WORD, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Your word is truth, light, hope, help, strength, deliverance, victorious. We believe you and we believe your word, therefore we speak your word over every situation and circumstance in our lives. We speak your word over our family, marriages, relationships, disobedient children, unsaved parents, homes, jobs, neighborhood, nations, president, mayors and governors, rage, murder, violence, depression, mental illness and sickness.

We speak peace, healing, love, reconciliation, ungodly soul ties be broken, healthy relationships restored, protection, we decree that those that rule over us shall hear your word, obey your word and be transformed by your word. We choose to believe you even in the midst of the storm we will not fear, we will be of good cheer because we know whom we serve and whose we are.

When I started my journey as a Christian, one of the first things I memorized was the Lord's Prayer. I knew it was a template for praying but I didn't understand what all the petitions really meant. It's really important to understand what you are saying and asking God because when that happens the Lord's Prayer turns from being a template into a prayer with emotion behind it.

I'm going to break down the Lord's Prayer and explain the different parts of it so that by the time you are done reading this article, you will understand a little more and maybe even be inspired to write your own prayer! There are seven petitions of the Lord's Prayer. The first petition is starting to worship the Father and acknowledging the closeness of your relationship with Him through Jesus Christ.
  Hindrances To Answered Prayer

Our Father in heaven,
The second one is continuing the worship of God. Your acknowledging that God is Holy and deserving of your worship. In the Old Testament, God's name was considered so holy, so sacred that the Jewish people wouldn't even say His name.

Hallowed be thy name,
The third petition is for God to bring His kingdom in different ways. First, God brings His kingdom to you on a personal level. You're asking God to rule over your life and and heart. Second, you're asking Him to bring His kingdom on a local level. By working through local churches to reach people and spread the good news, support for widows and orphans, helping the homeless, and feeding the hungry are just some examples of how God will use churches around in your city.

Third, you are asking Him to bring His kingdom on a global scale, helping spread the Gospel and help to people who are in need using evangelists, missionaries, big churches who go to third world countries to dig wells and bring medical supplies and food to those in need. God wants us to pray for these things because these things are close to His heart. People who are in need, both spiritually and physically.

Your kingdom come,
The fourth petition is closely tied with the third one. Here you are asking for God's will to be done in your life and throughout the world. God's will is done instantly in heaven, without hesitation or question.

Your will be done, on earth as it is done in heaven
The next couple of petitions are more for your needs. You started the prayer by praising God, acknowledging His holiness and rightful place in heaven on His throne. Then you prayed for yourself and others, asking God to bring His kingdom and will to be done on earth. Now you're asking Him to provide for your needs.

Our daily bread is about asking God to provide for you during that day. Food, clothing, protection, and spiritual needs. We are not supposed to worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself and have trouble of it's own (Matt. 6:34) We are relying on God for our needs and by asking for only today, we lay tomorrow and the day after at His feet for Him to worry about. He will provide.

Give us this day, our daily bread,
The next petition is asking God to forgive our sins. Our mistakes we make during the day, we are covered by His grace and all we have to do is ask for His forgiveness. This part of the prayer covers that. Some translations used Debts and some use Trespasses. Use whatever phrase you like, but just remember the main point is asking God to forgive the mistakes you have made throughout your day. We all aren't perfect. This also shows the importance of forgiving others who have done you wrong in any way, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your own sins. (Mark 11:25-26, Matthew 6:15, Colossians 3:13)
  The Only Password Is Prayer

Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors,
The seventh and final petition of the Lord's Prayer is for protection. It's asking God to not lead you into a situation with temptation that you couldn't handle without Him providing a way out for you. This also is asking God to protect you from the satan's attacks and traps that he will try and lay for you. The devil is always trying to throw us a curveball and get in between us and God. This is relying on God's power over the devil to protect you from him.

Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one
Here is the full Lord's Prayer in Matthew 6:9-13
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.

Now that you understand more about the Lord's Prayer I hope it inspired you to create one of your own. Use your own words to talk with God. It will be a great experience for you to tell God this prayer but worded from your own heart!
