Matthew 25:15
“And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to
another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway
took his journey’’.
In His
famous parable of the talents, Jesus said three people were given something to
invest, ‘each according to his ability.’ Note, God will give you only what you
have the ability to handle.
If you didn’t get the same talents as your neighbor, don’t worry, just use what He gave you. The first worker doubled his. Wouldn’t you like to have him advising you? The second did the same. But the third caved in to fear and buried his. Now when you fail to invest what God gives you, He loses His return and you lose the rewards you would have enjoyed. make use of today
Fear is your
number one enemy; it freezes your faith and cripples your creativity. Your
money, talent, love, etc. are seeds that must be sown; so sow them into
something you believe in, something that will outlive you. Everything God gives
you is meant to be multiplied. By failing to do so, you eventually forfeit it.
Christ’s parable ends with these sobering words: ‘Take the talent from him and
give it to the one who has the ten talents’ (Matthew 25:28).
Ever notice
how those who pour generously into the lives of others are constantly refilled,
while those who worry about parting with it, end up losing it or not enjoying
it? ‘Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows
generously will also reap generously’ (2 Corinthians 9:6).
Ask any farmer, your harvest only begins when you take you seed out of the barn and put it into the ground. That way God has something to work with. So the word for you today is; use what God gave you! make use of today

To succeed
in life you must seek God’s direction, prepare yourself, work hard, and invest
in the right things. The Bible says God gives you the ability to make money
(Deuteronomy 8:18). So never apologize for that ability! But material success
is only part of it.
God’s real objective is to make you a
channel through which His blessings flow to others. He’s not opposed to you
owing things, as long as they don’t own you! God wants your greatest joy to be
in Him, the Giver, not His gifts. Money can be a tool for good or evil, and one
reason God wants you to have it, is to make sure it gets to the right places
and funds for His purpose.
Parent,
teach your children that saving and investing are essential to good
stewardship. And don’t just preach it, practice it. For example, if you earn
$40,000 a year and spend it eating out and buying the latest clothes, you’ll
end up with a full stomach, an expanding waistline, a crammed wardrobe and
empty pockets! The Bible says: ‘While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest…shall
not cease.’ make use of today
Notice the sequence in this Scripture: first you
plant your ‘seed,’ then you give it ‘time,’ then you reap your ‘harvest.’
Consistent sowing guarantees consistent reaping. Each seed planted, schedules a
harvest. Isn’t it worth foregoing a few luxuries now in order to be secure
later, to be in a position to fulfil God’s purposes, and hear Him say, ‘Well
done, good and faithful servant’ (Matthew 25:21)?More Reading: Galatians 5:13-26, Exodus 7-9, Matthew 6: 9-18.
